Subject: Proposal for report on Facebook
Facebook has become the prevailing force in social networking over the past few years with its ability to connect individuals and businesses from continent to continent. It has transformed the ways of advertising through its targeted ads, and has given businesses a way to directly reach their customer base. I propose to write a report on how local and regional businesses are establishing their presence on Facebook and effective ways they are marketing to their clients on the social networking site.
Need
As TV viewer-ship among Gen Y consumers has recently declined with the onset of digital video recorders and online video streaming websites, companies have had a hard time marketing to and understanding the needs of these consumers.
Local and regional businesses need a cost effective strategy to market to Gen Y
Businesses are using targeted ads on websites such as Google and Facebook based on users search preferences
The feature, 'Becoming a Fan' can connect users with updates and events from businesses
There is a right way and a wrong way to connect with consumers on Facebook. This report will highlight effective ways to create and maintain a Facebook page for your business.
Radio and TV are no longer guaranteed ways of reaching a consumer base. Facebook is a site consistently accessed by millions everyday. Effective marketing on Facebook can increase awareness and revenue for a company among Gen Y consumers.
Topics
The Proposed Report, "Creating an Effective Social Media Presence as a Business" will focus on these main topics:
The power of a Facebook group and/or fan page
An investigative case study on a regional company's presence on Facebook and Twitter
Reaching Gen Y on Facebook (how to get them to pay attention to ads, mobile advertising)
Facebook concerns (Negative groups, negative comments, and the possibility of viruses)
